Fighting against Forceful Prostitution

May 2, 2013

Youths are unavoidable portion for any task. Their contribution for any task makes a significance difference in any mission or campaign. Else, International community would never show interest in encouraging youths for the achievement of the mission. Instance of political parties having their youth network probably is enough to explain about youth power!

One reason why they retain the courage is because none of the other classified sections except youths have the will power to work with heavy devotion anyway. Other reason could be because the children are unaware about the things happening, while old peoples are not physically strong to work for any campaign due to their old age. Prostitution has its own vision. It can be viewed from any aspects, positive or negative. Although majority population regards this task as totally unethical, illogical and unacceptable, the vision has its positive view as well. A young girl, who has his younger brother and lack other guardians; she don’t have any qualification; and adopts the only way to secure his brother’s future through prostitution. It would be therefore wrong if someone views the task and people contributing in it from entirely negative vision. Moreover, it helps country’s economy in the long run. A prostitution center would benefit not just a single girl but dozens of people directly or indirectly. Thailand would never reach to this mark in absence of this business. Unless legalized, sex work cannot work for anything except reduction of poverty for short term period.

Voluntary prostitution is neither legal, nor illegal. So, when it comes to forceful prostitution there remains criticisms. An emerging girl who sees various futures, who possesses several dreams, if she is locked inside a room with forceful sales of her body; makes her life entirely disgraced. This is against human rights. After one has right to freedom! And more than customers, business person or anyone involved in it, state has to bear the responsibility. So, when state fails to secure the right to freedom that comes under ‘Human Rights Violation’. One way to get out of the ‘forceful body sales’ is legalizing prostitution in practical. Red alert sign can be created anyway. This would systematically arrange the entire schedule and design the layout in diplomatic way. Strict or tight Government probably would no way contribute in this because no matter how strong or how strict the Government has appeared; all of them have failed to make this business ‘nil’.

Empowering youths has turned out to be successful in various campaigns. So, if state makes strong commitment in vesting youth’s participation here, that would likely bring positive consequence in the mission. Contribution of youths has significant role in ending ‘forceful prostitution’. They can develop feeling of brotherhood, and make a wise decision after updating information about their client. ‘Are you ready for it?’ would make the distinction between ‘voluntarily’ and ‘forceful’ clear. However, it has to be noted that any campaign should not be dependent considering emotional aspects. Hence, emotional feelings need not be regarded as the medium for the achievement of any goals. Wikipedia states that more than fifty thousand women and children against their will for prostitution.
So youths can contribute in two ways.

First, they can work individually. With the feeling that my individual contribution will contribute in multiplying contribution in the long run, youth can actively work forward. It may be impossible for the habituated youths to get rid of their prostitution center, and maybe it is not wise thing too either. However keeping one aware if the sexual partner is willing for the sex or not will not only prove you responsible enough but will also make your sex time enjoyable. It would never be gratifying if the sex partner is not willing from within for the sex activity. An individual voluntarily can work for it, and if he or she finds that their client has been compelled thereby, they can report to the concerned organizations.

This would help them gradually.
Unity always makes the voice and action strong! So, when peoples are united, they form a collective strength. This strength will make their power strong, and can work in collective manner. Before any action, there has to be proper planning anyway. So, after undergoing the research, one has to go towards the proper planning process, and then come into action. This plan has to include ideas like how to work, where to work, when to work and who is to be involved. Beginning an organization to work in this issue can be one idea. There are actively working organizations on various others missions like Amnesty for Human Rights. Similar group can be formed for the issue! Or, timely signature campaigns can be held. These collected signatures can be sent to the state, who will gain pressure to work for it. Various rallies can be organized timely to show concerned authorities. It would never be practical enough for youths to get into the place and protest there; rather giving pressures to various stated governed bodies, responsible personnel can contribute in this project. Campaign using Electronic means like web voice can be built to pressurize concerned peoples. Youths should be able to create positive vibes within society for prostitutes before. They need to make their family members who regard them completely negative create optimistic attitude. Prevention is better than cure anyway! So youths can conduct various street shows, various training programs, role plays and provide sufficient examples to convince the prospects visiting their local region. Showing documentaries visiting suspected areas can contribute anyway. Basically young minds need an alert signal to get away from it.
Involuntary sex can still be observable in various parts of world including developed nations. It is high time youths need to work for it. It is high time youths need to raise strong voice to make strict rules against it and make a proper implementation of it.
