Raise Voice for Sri Lanka!

Dec 7, 2013

You don’t have to be Human Right Activist to speak for Human Rights. Human Rights is not a single person’s concern, it is the concern of entire era!

A son gets killed for no reason from the state, in front of his father. We speak at the time of drinking tea, and show sympathy, feeling we cannot do anything.
No! You can now do something. You can help the father to get justice! It is Human Rights Celebration Time, and time for you to do something in real!
Yes! You Can…. And You Should!!

It’s online campaign, in supporting the victims! We are writing letter, to concerned person for justice. You can join our hands!

What will your single letter do?
This might be huge concern! But your single letter will add 1 to 33 and make it 34. 34 always looks stronger than 33. So, your single letter counts! Your single action counts.

What will you get? What will I get?
I am not going to earn any dollars from here. It is the satisfaction I get, when those victims get justice. It is the responsibility I feel, to speak for those peoples. So, all you can get is similar feeling that I get! Social Sector is priceless, and there’s a quote…Volunteers are not paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless. That makes you volunteer anyway!

This time, I am going with few Sri Lankan cases! Your action on every individual case is required.

CASE #1
This is the case of Sri Lanka’s young child named Sivasooriyakumar Sanaraj of 15. It was on June 13, 2013 he went to school but did not return back. His worried aunt went to school, and knew that he had not been to school that very day. She tried to report to police, but the police always made some excuse. They gave the words to visit school, but they never went to school.
On June 28, his neigbor who was waiting for the bus at late night saw auto rickshaw passing with three man and a boy tied his hand back. He immidiatley called Sanaraj’s father, and they waited for the auto to return back. The auto returned back, but there was just a man in it.
They caught him, and he threated that he belonged to CID. They took him to police, but the police explained that it was night, and they would not want to take any reports then. When asked, the caught man answered the boy exactly like Sanaraj. Despite being identified, police did not take any action and rather explained to wait until the senior police returns back.
Where Sanaraj is, not yet known!
Now, you can join the hand in writing online letter to the Government of Sri Lanka regarding this issue.

CASE #2
Ragihar Manoharan, 20 year old student sits to chat with his fellow students on January 2, 2006 at around 7 pm. An auto rickshaw passes by throwing grenade to them, where three of them get injured.
After a while, 10 to 15 officers in uniforms, believed to be police from the elite Special Task Force. Instead of helping them, they put the students in the jeep and beat them with rifle butts, and then pushed them out onto the road. The security force personnel then shot five students dead including Rahihar. It was informed that Ragihar called his father, shortly before the death informing that the police were surrounding him.
Post portem concluded that the students died from gunshot wounds, although the security forces claimed they were killed in the grenade attack. After giving evidence at inquest, Ragihar family were subject to threats and harassments. His father was even threatned of death. 13 security forces were detained in connection with the killings, but were later released.
Initial police investigation into the killings did not disclose who killed students. In 2006, President Mahinda Rajapaksa established an ad hoc commission of inquiry to examine this case and certain others. However, the final report has never been made public, and no one has been held repsonible for murders!

Take action right now... and call Sri Lankan Government to release the report and provide justice to those students!
and send online letter to Sri Lankan Government about Ragihar

CASE #3

Pragneeth Eknaligoda is a Sri Lankan Journalist, cartoonist and political analyst. He has been missing since he left work on the evening of January 24, 2010, just few days before presidential election in Sri Lanka. He had just completed analysis of two main presidential candidates. It was informed, that he was followed by someone, according to his friends. It was also noted that white van without any number plate was seen near his house at the time he was missing.
White vans had been used in many abductions then.
When his wife went to police for the complaint, the police detained her for several hours at police station before releasing her. She believes that her husband has been abducted by Government because he had done criticism of Sri Lankan Government.
Since 2006, 15 journalists have been killed and 25 forced to flee Sri Lanka in fear of their lives.
Now, you need to go to:

and send online letter to Sri Lankan Government in letting his family know the exact situation!

When they face the problem, you need to help! When you face it tomorrow, you will gain theirs help!
This is Social Work, gives you no money or anything as such… But SATISFACTION! DO IT…. IT FEELS GOOD!!
