Election Commission’s Ignorance…
Nov 18, 2013
I was kind of confused, when Election Commission declared
that the vote would be allowed from Voters Identity Card, Citizenship, Driving
License, Passports and any other Government issued legal documents where the
photo is kept. I was really frustrated hearing this, later I got to know that
the information I got was not clear; things like Citizenship, Driving License,
Passports and any other legal documents would be actually accepted in case if
the voters don’t get the voters identity card! I was still not satisfied, but
consoled myself reminding those places of Nepal, where it might take days to
reach the place of distribution.
I was then frustrated towards Election Commission, why had
they done this task this late? Issuing the cards, just few days before election
was actually shameful!
I had checked my name earlier in the website of Election
Commission sometimes back, and, I went to receive my Voters Identity Card. To
my surprise, I did not find my name there at the place of distribution! I tried
to enquire people there, where security person obstructed me, saying it was my
fault. I did not hesitate to argue with him for my rights.
‘You are not allowed
to get in here’
‘Why? I am just for
inquiry!’ I replied.
‘Go and get into the
line!’
‘I don’t have my name
there, and you are talking of line?’
‘No! I am here to
provide security, you are not allowed in here!’
‘I said, I am just for
inquiry, and I am not creating any obstacle for your security!’
‘I can’t let you in!’
‘Look sir! I don’t
have my name included there, and you are asking me for something stupid! Be
logical!’
‘If you don’t have
name, you can’t vote! That’s it!’
‘What? And now, you
are to say me to vote or not? You are here to provide security, not to guide
citizens! How can I trust you? Tomorrow you may say whom to vote… ‘
My voice was creating some noise, and I could see him
getting flexible.
‘Okay sir, but if you
don’t have name, what can we do?’
‘I am not asking you
to do anything; I just want to know what should I do, because my name is there
in voter’s list, but not here!’
So, he allowed me to make inquiry. And my name was not
there, so I had no cards too. I rushed to Election Commission Office of
Biratnagar, and there were several peoples like me with same troubles.
Election Commission probably had enough time; it was there
carelessness that they delayed the task. It was just before 10 days they sent
the card to get printed. They obviously had enough budgets too. Their
carelessness is the prime cause for this!
And, at the time, when at other countries, this card plays
important role, the temporary voter’s identity card is shameful. No quality and
not of proper size, showed that entire drama they were doing since last three
years was all for the corruption!
I got the card late! Really late in fact, just before the day
of election. It was just that when my dad expressed my card missing to one of
the Party Member, he suggested me to go to next place, where there could be my
name.
I then came to know that, Election Commission had made the
decision of keeping two Voting Centers at my Region. I had no Idea, and my card
was at the next voting center, of whose I had no idea. The peoples involved
there could at least tell me, that there can be my name in another center. They
ignored that too…
Anyways, it’s now for sure… I’ll take part in election!
And I write...
Nov 8, 2013
You warn me, but I
don’t care.
You threaten me,
but I don’t fear.
I know my right,
Right to express,
no matter if I speak or write!
I hate corruption,
I hate lie!
No, I am not
suited with tie!
I look dirty, I
look dull and lazy.
My mind never free,
all time busy.
You warn me, but I
don’t care.
You threaten me,
but I don’t fear.
I know truth
pinch,
But, I can't
betray my profession single inch.
Writing is
expressing mind in paper,
Storing in other
mind, without making vapor.
I have to make
readers inspire,
And make them
work, as per my desire.
You warn me, but I
don’t care.
You threaten me,
but I don’t fear.
Paper is a gun,
pen can be called sword!
Here, everything
counts, even your single word!
I hardly get
satisfactory payment,
Not enough to feed
and pay my rent.
Still,
satisfaction is what I get,
and leaders,
businessmen or actors call me mate.
You warn me, but I
don’t care.
You threaten me,
but I don’t fear.
I continue to
write, and continue to write.
What ever I think
or whatever I sight.
I am a writer,
I respect doctors,
sweeper and even fighter.
And I hold my pen
tight,
Papers are clean,
and again I write!
Celebrating Tihar
Nov 2, 2013
Every single festival in Nepal has got its own religious importance. Like
Dashain is regarded as the day when Goddess Durga achieved victory over the
demon and similarly Krishna Janmastami as the day when God Krishna took birth
on the earth. The approaching festival, Tihar has got its
own significance, as it was regarded as the festival when Yama came to earth
and his sister kept him for entire five days. Generally, the brother sister
relation is understood by this festival, however, we do have other four days
for various meanings and having different set of indications. But have we ever tried to figure out that there exists various scientific reasons for them equally. These festivals are all designed by our ancestor and we all accept this fact. What can probably be the way they designed our festival? What can be the probable logical reason behind this? I seriously have no idea who was the founder and who should be granted to all these credits, but all I know that each festival teaches us to be positive in life. Tihar, the day Bhai Tika is not just celebrated because Yama came to earth to his sister, but because it manages to bring the relation of brother and sister fresh and living one. The distance gets strong after marriage for any sister, but the day comes as the greatest excuse to bring brother and sister together and share time. Would there be any day as such for brother and sister if this day was not propounded by our ancestors? When would brother and sister get to sit and talk? It is the time, when neither brother in law, nor sister in law would be there. All the world will be with their respective brothers and sisters!
Again, we have four other days that comes before the exact day of Bhai Tika. On the very first day, crow is worshipped. Does anyone regard Crow as God? But this day we give huge respect to this creature, which indirectly shapes our mind that there are lots of things to be learnt from crow. Union in privacy, boldness, storing away useful items, watchfulness and not easily trusting others is the specialties of
crow. And they give moral to any human life. It is the day, when we respect the creature, that we give damn at other times of the year. Again the day when Dog is worshipped, although at various other days we use the word 'kukkur' as the means of scolding word, on this day we give priority to dog. There are things to be learnt from this creature as well, waking up at any time when needed, devotion towards the master, bravery are the basic things to be learnt from dog. Dog has always been friend of human beigs from very past, they are friends and trustworthy creature because of their honesty and dedication towards human beings. Goverdhan Puja, when we worship dung signifies that useless things like dung equally have got priority in our daily life style. It teaches us, that there is normal process in everything. We even wipe our houses with dung, as the sign of purity?
Worshipping cow is next important feature out of these five
days. Cow teaches us sharing behavior. So despite these important features, it
over all explains we need not to be cruel to animals. It is the only day, we
show our gratitude to our national animal. Laxmi Pooja on the other hand is the
day when we worship our wealth. This is the day, when we bring out our property
and worship them. Everything we do, we do it for wealth and health. We need not
to do so huge for health, but due to the greed, our dedication towards wealth
is unlimited. On this very day, we pray to the Goddess of Wealth, Laxmi, and
worship wealth. We have to feel guilty, if the wealth is collected through
illegal and unfair ways.
Despite the fact, we curse dogs, we throw stones at crows, take
away milks from cow, and they are still good to us. So the festival teaches us
to have the power of tolerance. This festival has been teaching us that human
beings are not the only creature living in this world, there are other
creatures who have been living their lives like humans as well. They all play
important role, and have their own world. Human beings are supposed to be the
most creative and smart creature out of every other creatures. But, are we good
to others? What harm has the crow done to us? Why do we throw stones at them?
Dog has never been selfish, and has been obeying what we human beings say them
to. What have we human species ever done to dogs?
It is high time we now need to analyze why we are celebrating the festival apart from religious thought. May the festival bring entire happiness to you and your family. Happy Tihar!

I was once asked the person whom you admire the most...is I replied on the spot, without giving second though: Sunil Pokharel. He is the one who could have gained the tag of Bollywood Star, but he did not want to live the life of Udit Narayan Jha, and returned back to Nepal. I call him Father of Modern Theatre in Nepal. Sugam Pokarel has his own identity besides being his brother. He is my all time favorite singer. What would then stop me to make a post praising this song? Act of Sunil, Voice of Sugam!
I listened to this song for the very first time on Image Channel. I was highly impressed the very first time. I then searched in on Youtube and watched probably hundred times. The song is really inspiring one… The song is about the idol life, suggesting that the life be different every day.
The troubles and worries get lost. It wishes for the life where happiness of other would be concern; where laughter would be outcome of pride. Every evening, the day work could create satisfaction and the plan for next day could be designed. The happiness of this life would create smile for others too.
No one would get trouble from my life that one is living. Everyone could gain help from me when they ask. I will mix my dream in other’s wish. I will take the burden of others worries. May my life be watched by God.
The character, Sunil Pokharel begins his day getting out from his room. He then sees a beggar, and then something strikes his mind. If he donates some amount in the name of God, someone would take it. He could have a tea out of it, but he decides to hand the amount to that beggar. He drinks tea, wondering what next to do, and offers some grain to pigeon. He helps the people who actually want it. He also puts his idea to get the bags sold through sweet little child. Your heart will be overwhelmed when you see the smile of the satisfied child in the end. Maybe this is the indication that both physical and mental help can make someone happy. He ends up the day writing in diary the things that happened entire day.
Sunil Pokharel’s role can never be exactly traced without asking him. However, I perceived that one can help if he actually wants. Sunil Pokharel, the character of the video helped needy ones through money, through his hard work and through his mind. When one gains the idea that he’ll help, there can be various ways to help. It is the willingness that counts the most after all.
The idol life has been explained in the song.
Sugam Pokharel's voice has done justice to the lyrics. Sunil Pokharel's role has done justice to his character. Beni Madhav Bhattarai has wonderful lyrics, and Tsujil Karmacharya is always a great arranger. Nikesh Khadka must be admired for wonderful direction!
Yes, I hope for the same…. Mero Jiwan Yesto Hos….
