And My Kalinchowk Visit....

Oct 8, 2013
And now, My visit to Kalinchowk:
Kalinchowk
It was in after fourth semester, we went Jiri… five of us! On Jiri itself, we made a plan to visit Kalinchowk while returning. But, next morning, before we were about to leave Jiri… there was a rainfall… We assumed that there must have been rainfall all around Dolakha, and our limited budget would not afford vehicle, the slippery road and huge trek… We cancelled our Kalinchowk and hence stayed in Jiri itself.
I had  the feeling that I will have to be there anyway; as I had given my word to be there. It was then Magh 1st… Magh 1st is the day when Nepalese celebrate by eating laddus… Ever since I came to Kathmandu, we were never likely to get laddus.. So we made the plan on the very first year to go for trekking… We trekked Manakamana… on the first year… On the second we did something, but I forgot what it was..on the third..we sat at one of our friend’s room….and on fourth it was my plan to trek till Kalinchowk.
We took bus early morning till Charikot… Took a room, kept our bags, and went to Dolakha Bhimsenthan…and returned back…I had my friend’s house, we went to visit him. Then, we bought stuffs necessary for next day, and slept after late night talk.

We started trekking…three of us…at early five! We had the idea that we’d be at a village by two hours..but even after five hours we could not get a clue. It was ten, and then we felt we missed the way, and we were in the wrong way. No one was there to talk, just we three…and entire empty world… So, we sat and thought for a while. We remembered, there were two ways after the pond, and we choose the right instead of left. So we rushed back to that place again. And finally we found the village.
Me and My friend...Walking in a Wrong Way!
We don’t walk in trekking speed. If it is five hours trek, we take it eight. So, Kalinchowk was eight hours trek, we were assuming we’d take 12. But we had lost three hours at some unknown place…. So we were nervous! But we kept on walking… We had Tang, for energy drink, but did not find water in single place. We could not think of our lunch without water, so we planned to sit for lunch only when we get water. Still, we kept walking. Finally, we saw a monkey…monkeys…and lot of monkeys…we could assume that water must be somewhere nearby. Yeah’ we found water! We drank Tang like anything… It was 12 noon. And then sat for lunch, we had bread and jam, and noodles with us!
Oh yes!! We finally found Water!!

My friend, Bipin with his lunch!!
We wanted to sit for a while, but nope! We were out of time. Now, what happened was, we saw a vehicle coming, and we asked for the lift… They accepted! We were in the back.. Sitting back at the jeep, with all those dusts and paining butts when the jeep jumped through road…we were all tired! And it was the dust, that made us look funny even more! Children at Kuri laughed seeing our idiotic condition there. And we reached straight Kalinchowk in the vehicle at 3 pm. I still remember the black tea that we had at that height… at Rs 10.. That was amazing!
My friend, Sujal drinking Tang after we got the Vehicle to lift us!
Amazing Tea and Amazing Height!
This is seriously amazing place…. Place of Devi.. At such a peak….Truely, amazing place! Mountain views straight way..from the height of almost 3900….With our praying, we returned back to Kuri. .. We loved the hospitality they presented to us at the hotel. It was cold, we didn’t even thought of getting out of bed. We sat there, ate there, slept there.
Mountain Sight... just WOW!!

Next morning we woke up early. The water was freezing cold!! Got fresh, and before sunrise, we trekked down to Charikot. We reached Charikot at around 12, got the bus of Manthali returning back to Capital. Caught it, had lunch in Mude, and returned back to Capital!

I don’t think I write travelling story in good way! Was this that boring?

It sounded like you guys had lots of fun! I had the version of "Three Idiots" in my mind while reading this travelogue. (Not that I imply "idiots" here :D) Keep up the good work!
