After, sound track of Skyfall was released, it was immediately compared to Chris Cornell's 'You Know My Name' from the sound track of Casino Royal. Although, Adele had done really appreciable job in Skyfall's sound track, it was seen below the standard, keeping Cornell's number as the base point. It is not yet a question, but a fact that no longer will this base point rise above, as on 18th of May, this legendary singer left his body and soul.
52 years old, this American singer had greatest number like Billie Jean or Nearly Forgot my Broken Heart. It was not just the song that people looked into his number, because there had been ample of stuffs that anyone would discover it then. He was the one who taught to 'Be Yourself', through such a strong composition. He was the one who expressed that it was not possible to change him, so better change the world through his number 'No one can change me'. 'Doesn't remind me anything' is next number which teaches anyone to life freely. He must be granted credit for promoting a carefree life, and he entirely focused on the theme - life a life that you have been living. His numbers 'I am a highway' or 'Like a rolling stone' is something that any music lover should not be explained what it is all about.
His influence in Nepal and South Asia was no lesser. These y generation mass of South Asia grew up listening radio stations to large extent, and there was not a time when Cornell’s song was of least priority. That used to be the time, when his songs would get into the Chartbusters.
Although, Cornell's death was termed suicide later; his life had large number of lessons that anyone would live. He himself had admitted that he was into the drugs during his early teen, which he managed to give up within the year. His story, when he used to work at the job which he hated, simply to buy a guitar is something that anyone could take as a lesson of determination and dedication. His career as solo singer, and then his movement and works at Audio Slave, his life again as solo movement and then are something where one can see different lives within the very single life.
Cornell's dedication towards music can be seen from the words he mentioned where he said he could go from Sydney Opera House to Voodoo with Soundgarden, within a week. He also re defined 'musician' as the person who should be capable to get into the room, pick up instrument and entertain people. He also named - Johnny Cash, who should actually be able to walk into the room with instrument and capture people's attention for couple of hours. This fellow certainly had to offer large number of stuffs from Soundgarden, which this musical world is certain to miss. Soundgarden may sustain, but absence of Cornell is certain to bring huge impact there. Or, if they had something recorded, that should get the hit.
From stars like Elton John to Jimmy Page, they all reacted to Cornell's death. While Elton John tweeted calling the news 'Shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Cornell who was a great song writer, singer and loveliest man'. Jimmy Page regarded Cornell 'Incredibly Talented, Incredibly Young and Incredibly Missed'. Chris Daughtry tweeted 'No Words. Heartbroken' after his death news as well. From stars like Adam Lambert to Billy Idol, they all had words of sympathy for him. He deserved all these words because he had been awarded since 1995 itself from Grammy Awards to Golden Globe Awards. He had been achieving awards from 'Best Metal Performance' to 'Best Rock Album' in Grammy Awards itself.
From Medias like The Telegraph to New York Times, they termed him 'Rock Legend' to 'Rocker' or 'Spectacular Voice of Grunge'. Be it natural death or suicide, the fact is this inspirational singer is no longer with us.
In his song dead wishes, he had mentioned 'white roses in dead man's dream, down and out with everything to lose' and they did come true for him. Also he had mentioned that it will take long to kill you, and asked if you are willing to die and the coldest blood would run through the veins, when all will know his name. Oh yes, Chrish Cornell - we all know your name!
